Meetings

The Peoria Medical Society sponsors membership meetings on subjects of a timely nature, generally regarding socio-economic subjects. These meetings provide an opportunity for physicians to exchange ideas and plan for the future.

The membership meets ordinarily on the third Tuesday of each month, September-April. These are dinner meetings. All Society members are encouraged to attend. There is never a charge for spouses of members, Residents, or students. From these meetings come recommendations for Society policy and action. All meetings are sponsored completely by the Peoria Medical Society unless otherwise indicated.

Active membership in the Peoria Medical Society offers you the opportunity of playing a role in shaping the future of medicine in our community! Your knowledge, experience and involvement are vital to our accomplishments as a group and as a part of the medical profession.

to attend. Please join us as we welcome more than 18 different displays! Music, beverage and food provided. Step out for a social evening with your colleagues!

January 2010, Peoria Medical Society welcomed Dr. Uzma Ali who presented "Epilepsy in the 21st Century, an Overview"

February 2010, Peoria Medical Society hosted Dr. Ryan Finkenbine with a program entitled: "Malpractice, Informed Consent, and Capacity Assesment"

March 2010 Peoria Medical Society welcomed A.Anthony Ashenhurst, J.D., who provided information on "Recovery Audit Contractors"

April 2010, Peoria Medical Society and Alliance combined meeting welcomed Dr. John Lomax, who presented a program about his experiences in Haiti post earthquake

There are no programs for the summer months of June, July and August

The Annual Business Meeting is the third Tuesday in November, unless Thanksgiving falls in that week. The 2010 Annual Meeting will take place on November 16, 2010. At this meeting annual elections are held, Committee Chairs submit reports, and the President delivers the Presidential Address.

The Nominating Committee members will be announced in the fall two months prior to the annual meeting. If you or a fellow member of the society have an interest in serving on the board, please contact Dr. Steven Lichtenstein at the Illinois Eye Center or call the society office at 692-1192
