About Us

The Peoria Medical Society was organized in 1848 and is the oldest continuous county medical society in Illinois. Its outstanding achievement has been its aid and real benefit to the development of organized medicine in this state and in the midwest.

The Peoria Medical Society received its charter from the Illinois State Medical Society in 1903 and has continued to be of great benefit to the entire community. It has earned and maintained a high level of respect from the medical profession and the community.

A competent and professional staff oversee the Peoria Medical Society's operation in a modest headquarters office in Northwest Peoria. The Society is larger and more sophisticated than it used to be, but it's basic purpose has not changed.
